OCTOBER 1 - 5, 2021
Zion National Park is a spectacular network of colorful canyons, forested mesas, and striking deserts. Come see the beautiful multi-layered red rock, where the river has carved the canyon over millions of years. Experience the grandeur and peace of this enchanting place, where nature and its “community of life are untrammeled by man, a place where man himself is a visitor who does not remain.”
We will travel in a chartered, air-conditioned bus, up to Zion Canyon, with base campers spending four nights at Watchman Campground, with an optional day trip to Bryce Canyon. Base camp participants will be able to choose which hike they would like to do each day. Backpack groups will spend the first night at Zion base camp, then will be bussed out to their trailheads for 1 or 2 nights, to return to Zion base camp on the last night before we drive home. We’ll enjoy hiking, campfires, starry nights, and good company. Base camp and backpack trips of varying difficulty are available. Please note that due to road closures and hike closures, the hikes or backpacks may change as needed.
Participants must provide their own meals and camping equipment. Upon registration, you will receive an email confirmation. The pre-trip planning meeting is September 23rd, 2021 from 6:30 to 8 pm on zoom. It’s a great chance to meet your leaders and ask questions (highly recommended for first-timers). A handout will also provided with suggestions about what to pack, weather, safety tips, etc. Look forward to having you join us!
